Day7 German WRC

View of lake and mountains from Hotel

Awaking for breakfast under perfect blue skies by the lake, is not a bad way to start the day.

Then it was northwards towards Luxembourg, but first a detour into Germany for some Autobahn, mayhem, and a good sampling of the tarmac German WRC Stages. Which are a great mix of roads taking you through up and over vine covered hills in and around the Mosel wine area.

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your view point, were the Germans running a hill climb on one of the stages. This featured many classes of cars from old V12 Formula 1 cars and Formula 3. As well as ex-WRC cars, and wacky looking - with all their aero addenda - dedicated Hill Climb cars. It was a great diversion from some great roads, and we were able to feast on the speed, the incredible noise and sight of these machines.

Luxembourg arrived and our town centre Hotel with its veranda perched on a valley top beckoned. Then after a long period of laughter, beer and peanuts, we hit the nightlife and dinner. Our last meal together.

Most of our party didn't get in until the early hours and we were more than a little merry, celebrating an epic adventure.
